Not a true Kalamata it is probably called this in Australia because of the shape of its fruit, which is similar to Kalamata. From Italy, its true name is Oliva di Cerignola, (Jumbo Kalamata is much easier to say).
Not a vigorous tree, it has large fruit which gives it its popularity. The fruit is pickled green and productivity is high. Very popular for the home gardener, not easy to propagate because of its low rooting abilty.
