A variety from Spain, where it is the most important cultivar planted for oil production. The tree has a medium vigour and quite bushy and dense. Very productive and constant, Picual bears fruit early in its life.
The fruit is oval in shape and has a high oil content. The oil is very stable and iis very easy to machine harvest as the fruit fall easily from the tree. Picual is tolerant of wet soils and has also adapted itself to the warmer growing regions of Western Australia. Picual is self fertile.
